Living is Art
No one wants to live an ugly life, but there are certainly lots of ugly lives being lived. Perhaps what is missing is a standard of living as art. Look around you at the picture we have painted. Look in the bottom corner, whose signature is that? If it isn't yours then you can't do much about it, but if you are willing to sign your name there, then you can do something about it.
At any rate, somebody painted it, and we are the only ones here, so you are an artist, like it or not. You can paint an ugly picture or a pretty picture, you can even paint no picture, but you can't prevent your life from being art. Living is art.
Living Requires Art
Food and shelter are unquestionable necessities of living. Exposed to the elements and without sustenance our time is brief. Without art, however, our time is meaningless. It is not enough to just eat. Even those among us who consider themselves artless will still be found making a statement somewhere: the farmer with the neatly planted row; the dinner with the beans cooked just right; the swing of the hammer; the stroke of the saw. Maybe nobody else knows, but it had to be done with just a touch of style because living requires art.
Living is an Art
There are few, if any, rules in life that don't find an exception somewhere. Trying to adhere to rules usually runs you right into the exception eventually. Negotiating the exception is art, because there are no rules about breaking rules, that takes creativity. Living successfully is an art.
Living Is Presentation
Whether your style is minimalist, natural, extravagant, or any other, your style says that about you. The clothes you wear, the way you adorn your home, the presentation of your food all say something about who you are. You are communicating to the world around you, like it or not, and that communication is art. Each and every one of us is an artist.
Living Securely
Security is needed for happy living. Security is shelter, and being able to make a shelter gives one security. It is nice to know you can always have a home made from the materials around you. Artis Living incorporates methods of natural building into our adventures, to enhance personal security.
Living Nourishment
We draw nourishment from our activities in many different ways, but most commonly by converting them to an exchangeable like cash. Art, however, nourishes us directly through the process of creation. As each motion of our hands reveals the underlying creation a surge within us tells us we are on the right path. When our work is approached as art, each moment is fulfilling. When Living is approached as art, the act of living is nourishing in itself.
